The new Sequencer was designed to be easy to understand, playable, flexible, experimental but most of all fun.
It can be used for simple short repeating patterns or complex syncopated polymetric/polyrhythmic mayhem.
It can also be used as a complex envelope generator or a programmable waveshape oscillator.
The Sequencer Expander adds a whole host of CV inputs and controls for each of the 4 channels of the Sequencer module.
The Harmonic Timing Generator features an oscillator, wave multiplier and 3 x manual/CV control switches for the wave multiplier outputs. It can be used in LFO mode as a clock source for each of the 4 channels of the Sequencer or it can be run as an audio rate harmonic oscillator. The individual multiplier inputs and outputs are available to allow different sources for the various multiplier circuits.
The Interpolating Scanner features an 8 channel scanner with CV and manual control of scan stage and scan width. It also has 8 VCAs that operate independently of the scanner. Both the scanner and VCAs have dedicated mixer output sections that feature ODD/ALL/EVEN outputs of the channels to allow stereo mixing and panning effects. The 8 sliders can be set to effect the input levels of the VCA, Scanner or both which means for example the module could be a stereo panner on channels 7 and 8, 4 channel mixer on 1 to 4 and 2 VCAs on 5 and 6 all at the same time.
The output of the HTG can be connected internally to the input of the Scanner to allow scanning of the harmonics.
The Module works down to DC so it can used to process CV as well as audio.
The LFOs module has one LFO that can be synced to an incoming clock and one LFO that can be reset to incoming pulse. The outputs of each LFO go the CV inputs of the other for some complex cross-modulation and pseudo-random pattern generation. Each LFO has 2 banks of 8 waveshapes and manual/CV control of waveshape, frequency, frequency multiplier/divider, waveshape skew and level. LFO 1 can be set to produce bipolar or unipolar output and LFO 2 can be set to sample the LFO for staircase/random sample hold outputs.
The Dual LPG/VCA features 2 independent channels that can be set to either LPG for the classic Vactrol based, inherently acoustic sounding, Buchla design with a switch to select low pass, combo or gate modes. Or it can be switched to VCA mode for the classic warmth of the VCAs as used in the early Moog designs. The Vactrols have been specially made to produce a long decay from a short CV pulse that sound naturally great for percussion without too much messing with envelope settings. The VCA on the other channel can be patched in series with the LPG if more control over the decay is required.
